Do you ever feel hungry by working or studying?, this is a feeling most of the people can relate to.
Despite the fact studying or working doesn't burn as much calories as a physical exercise, its still tiring and time consuming, research has proven that it actually increases your appetite here's why and how to avoid it

The Story:
as an active individual I always thought to myself, why do I feel hungry every time I work on something even though it doesn't require any physical activity, which is why I decided to take a deeper look at it, am I the only one? or are other people alike.
Do we actually get hungry when we think too hard?
a study was taken in Canada which divided people into three categories, a category was told to read a book, another category was asked to do nothing and the last group was asked to do complicated computer work.
after the tasks has been done the three groups were taken to an open buffet and it turned out that the group that has done complex ate 200 more calories than the class who done nothing.
So why do we feel hungry after mental tasks?
a study was conducted by taking a blood test on applicants after doing complex thinking a spike on insulin and glucose level was noticed on people who done hard thinking tasks so yes the brain sends signals of hunger when a complex thinking task is done although and energy spent on that task is very less.
they also found out that light exercise can provide the energy your brain needs without having to eat more.
How to kill the hunger caused from thinking too hard?
researchers suggested taking a 15 minutes light walk before reaching for food, if you still feel hungry after that try to have a piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt.
In conclusion:
Yes, working can actually make you feel hungry not because you burnt calories thinking but because your brain sent signals of hunger.
to kill that feeling of hunger you can take a small walk which will provide your brain with the energy needed.
