in this blogpost I'm going to write a few post workout mistakes that are common and
might be pushing you away from your fitness goals in 2022 and explain the reasons why you should start avoiding them.

1-Rushing to eat your post workout meal
if you eat right after the workout you might actually be going against your goal if your goal is to lose weight, to explain this in depth in a study published by The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition in 2013, 2 groups were tested, both groups consumed Amino Acids in a addition to some protein and carbohydrates, one group consumed 1 hour after the workout and the other group consumed it 3 hours after the workout, however both groups had the same amount of muscle protein synthesis.
to conclude if you're eating directly after a workout you don't gain more muscle but what you do is turning off the post exercise oxygen consumption which helps you burn more fat.
2- Do not take antioxidants!
bodies are smart, you shouldn't take vitamin C or other Antioxidants after a workout to reduce stress because this will not allow the body to deal with stress and might have a negative effect on you in the future.
to support this with an evidence a study was published by National Library of Medicine, The study looked at subjects consuming vitamin C after the workout and they found that the amount of muscle damage was equal to those who didn't take the vitamin C.
3-Overestimating how much calories you've burned
workout isn't magic, if your apple watch tells you that you've burnt 1000 calories I hate to break it out to you but this is incorrect.
"According to an online calorie estimator from the American Council on Exercise people who did CrossFit typically torch 260 calories in 20 minutes, according to the research"
do not try to make out for the calories that you've burned by awarding yourself with more food unless you're trying to gain weight.
